The crew of the Death and Breakfast Inn are going to be touring downtown DC on August 8, 2010! (That's this Sunday!)
We will arrive at the Shady Grove metro station around 11 am and metro on the red line to the Judiciary Square station (arriving at approx 11:45am). This puts us across the street from The National Building Museum where we will hopefully visit the Lego exhibit. (Admission to the exhibition is $5 per person. Admission to the museum is free.)
Sometime between 1pm and 2pm, we will begin our stroll to the National Geographic museum. There is about a half hour walk between the two and we may stop for food along the way. If it's devastatingly hot or people are tired, we may also be convinced to metro between the two.
In any case, sometime between 2 and 3 pm, we will arrive at the National Geographic museum to view the Da Vinci-The Genius exhibit. (Admission to this exhibition is free.)
If we have not already stopped for food, we will locate a suitable venue for supper after visiting Da Vinci. At the end of our day, we will depart at the Farragut North Metro Station and head back to Shady Grove.
This will be a highly informal meet up. You're welcome to meet us at any leg of the journey. We'll look for you if you tell us to wait at a particular place and time or I will happily provide you with my mobile number so you can find us, if you ask ahead of time. Pretty clothes are nice, but not a must. If you feel like showing up in your lego t-shirt, no one will make fun of you.

The crew of the Death and Breakfast celebrated All Hallows Eve this year as party animals!
Kyle (the kitsune engineer) went as himself. Chef Crystal went as a dalmation.
And Lady Pendragon went as the March Hare.
Our Lovely friend The Doctor was there as well. (and was rather startled to find himself already there!)

The D&B crew visits the Pa Renaissance Faire
And wreaks temporal havoc. Much fun was had on the 9th of August at the Shire of Mount Hope.
Lady Pendragon was serenaded by pirates and looked dashing in her teacup hat.
Kith drove the chronomobile and danced.
Taru let off steam
and found more cheesecake!
We also met Dr. Who:
All in all, a grand day.

Mount Hope PA: Semi-event #2
The cast and crew of The Death and Breakfast Inn and Tea Shop invite you to join them at
The totally unorganized, unofficial and unplanned
Time Travel Visit to the Renaissance Faire
On Sunday, September 13th.
We are using our Scientist's (he's not mad, he's just sarcastic) Chronothropter to violate space-time and visit the Mount Hope Renaissance Faire in inappropriate time period costume. Steampunk encouraged, but any costume is fair game. We will be meeting at the front gates between 10:30 and 11 am. There is no plan after this.
Discount coupons (two for the price of one tickets) available at participating locations of Burger King, Hess Express and Turkey Hill. I will likely have extra coupons, if you message me ahead of time and tell me to expect you.
THIS EVENT IS NOT IN ANY WAY SPONSORED OR RECOGNIZED BY THE MOUNT HOPE RENAISSANCE FAIRE. http://parenfaire.com/
In July we had a lovely visit to the National Arboretum in Washington DC with a grand group of steampunks.
The D&B crew (Kith, Taru and I) started with a Parisian picnic (baguette, cheese, watermelon, dried fruit and rice crispy treats).
(Ok, that's the D&B crew plus isabelladangelo
We then met up with others for a stroll through the Bonsai museum.
After a rest in the herb garden
We meandered up to the columns where we chattered about poetry, took a large group photo
and ate delicious food made by ladyaelfwynn
All in all, a lovely day.
